From the sermon Unmovable

Leader Notes

Duration: 5 minutes

Tone: Warm, gentle, and reassuring. Use a calm storytelling voice. Emphasize that Jesus is strong and keeps all His promises — we can trust Him completely.

If a child gets restless: Invite them to stand and do the motions with you again, or ask them to help you 'show' the other children how to do the actions. Keep the story moving; don't pause for long explanations.

Anchor Scripture

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right... He who does these things shall never be moved.

— Psalm 15:1-2, 5b

Story Time: Jesus Never Breaks His Promises

Read aloud (slowly and clearly):

'Today we learned that God wants people who keep their promises to live close to Him. But guess what? Only one person keeps every promise perfectly — and that's Jesus! When Jesus says He will do something, He always does it. He promised to love us forever, and He does. He promised to be with us, and He is. Jesus is so strong and so good that He never, ever breaks a promise. And because Jesus kept all His promises, we can be close to God too — just by trusting in Jesus!'

Motion Activity

Say to the children: 'Let's show how strong Jesus is! When I say Jesus keeps His promises, you stand up tall and make strong arms like this.' (Demonstrate flexing arms or holding arms up high.) 'Ready? Jesus keeps His promises!' (Do the motion together.) 'Again! Jesus keeps His promises!' (Repeat 2-3 times.)

Yes/No Question

Ask the children (one at a time or as a group): 'Does Jesus keep all His promises?'

Expected answer: Yes!

If a child says 'no' or seems unsure: Gently say, 'That's okay! The answer is yes — Jesus always keeps His promises. He loves us so much!'

Coloring Page Prompt

Say to the children: 'Now you get to draw a picture! Draw Jesus with strong arms, because He is strong enough to keep every promise. You can draw a big heart too, because Jesus loves you!'

(Provide blank paper and crayons. Circulate and affirm their drawings with simple praise: 'I love how you drew that!' or 'Jesus is so strong, just like you showed!')

Closing Prayer (Leader)

'Dear Jesus, thank You for keeping all Your promises. Thank You for loving us and being with us. Help us to trust You every day. Amen.'

Leader Reminder

This age group learns best through repetition and physical engagement. If you have extra time, repeat the motion activity or sing a simple song about Jesus' love (e.g., 'Jesus Loves Me'). Keep the atmosphere joyful and affirming — the goal is for children to feel safe and loved, just as Jesus promises.
