Read God's Word Together
O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart, who does not slander with his tongue, and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend, in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the Lord, who swears to his own hurt and does not change, who does not put out his money at interest, and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
— Psalm 15
Question 1: What Does God Want?
In Psalm 15, David asks God a big question: Who can live close to you? God wants people who are perfect — who always tell the truth, who are kind to their neighbors, who keep their promises, and who are generous with their money.
Can you or I be perfect like that? Why or why not?
Question 2: Who IS Perfect?
The sermon told us that only one person has ever been perfect enough to stand before God. Who is that person?
Question 3: How Can WE Stand Before God?
Since we can't be perfect on our own, how can we be close to God? (Hint: It has to do with trusting in Jesus!)
Activity: Draw It!
Draw a picture of Jesus standing before God's throne in heaven. Remember, Jesus is the King of Glory who makes a way for us to be with God. You can also draw yourself standing with Jesus because when we trust in Him, He brings us close to God too!
