Sheep of His Pasture

From the sermon Seeking the Lost Sheep
From the sermon
So this idea of sheep and shepherd is central to understanding God's relationship, of course, with his people.
Scripture · Ps.100.3
Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Reflect and pray
To call ourselves His people and the sheep of His pasture is to admit we need guidance, protection, and care we cannot provide ourselves. The shepherd imagery is not decorative; it defines how God relates to us and how we depend on Him. We belong to Him because He made us. This should humble us and quiet our anxious striving. When you feel lost or exposed today, remember whose pasture you inhabit. Rest in the Shepherd’s ownership and ask Him to lead you to green pastures.
