Jesus Finds His Lost Sheep

Children's church (3-6) · member guide · Anchor: Matthew 18:12-13

From the sermon Seeking the Lost Sheep

Story Time

Listen to what Jesus said in Matthew 18:12-13:

'What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.'

Here is a story for you: A shepherd had lots of sheep. One little sheep wandered away. The shepherd left all the others to go find it. When he found that one lost sheep, he was SO happy! Jesus is like that shepherd. He loves each one of us very much.

Let's Move!

Pretend to be a sheep: get down on your hands and knees.

Now stand up tall and call out, 'Baa, baa!' because the shepherd found you!

Now jump up and down three times because the shepherd is so happy you are found!
