God Searches for His Wandering Sheep

What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

Question 1: The Lost Sheep

Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had 100 sheep. One sheep wandered away and got lost. What did the shepherd do? Why do you think he cared so much about just one sheep?

Question 2: God's Care for You

Jesus said God is like that shepherd. He cares about each person who follows Him — even when they wander into sin or make mistakes. How does it make you feel to know God searches for you when you go the wrong way?

Question 3: Helping Others

If someone in your class or family starts doing something wrong or wanders away from God, what can you do to help bring them back? (Think about being kind, praying, or telling a grown-up.)

Activity: Draw the Shepherd

Draw a picture of the shepherd finding his lost sheep. Show how happy the shepherd is! You can add mountains, the other 99 sheep, or anything else from the story.

Remember: God loves you so much that He will always search for you — just like the shepherd searched for his one lost sheep!
