From the sermon Unlimited Forgiveness?

Listen to God's Word

Then Peter came up and said to him, 'Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?' Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.'

— Matthew 18:21-22

Story Time: The Counting Game

Peter asked Jesus, 'How many times should I forgive someone? Seven times?' Jesus said, 'No, Peter — way more than that! So many times you can't even count them all!' Jesus wants us to forgive people over and over, just like God forgives us over and over.

Let's Move!

Let's count together! Hold up your fingers: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven! Now wiggle all your fingers — that's how many times Jesus says to forgive: more than we can count!

Think About It

Does Jesus want us to forgive our friends when they say sorry?

(Grown-ups: Let your child answer yes or no!)

Color and Remember

Draw a picture of you and a friend holding hands. Remember: God helps us forgive!

Big Idea: Jesus wants us to forgive people again and again, because God forgives us again and again!
