Bring Them to Jesus

Reflect and pray

You do not need a perfect theology to bring someone to Jesus. You only need willing hands and a hopeful heart. In Matthew 19, the parents who carried their children to Jesus are not described as scholars or saints. We are not even told if they understood that He was the Messiah. What we know is that they loved their little ones enough to seek a blessing. They wanted God to touch what was most precious to them, and they believed that Jesus was the kind of person who would not turn a child away.

This week, who is it that you are carrying? Perhaps it is a son or daughter navigating a hard school year. Perhaps it is a friend whose faith has grown cold, a spouse battling fear, or a neighbor who feels invisible. The instinct to protect and intercede is holy, but it can also become heavy if you start to believe that the outcome depends on your eloquence or your strength. These parents did not heal their children; they simply brought them to the One who could. That is the whole task of prayer. It is not your job to manufacture the miracle. It is your privilege to place the need before the Miracle-Maker.

There is a profound humility in bringing someone to Jesus. It admits, 'I cannot fix this. I cannot save this. But I know who can.' When you lay your concerns before Christ, you are participating in the same ancient act as those mothers and fathers on the road to Judea. You are saying that Jesus is worth interrupting, that His touch is worth seeking, and that no one is too small, too young, or too far gone to be blessed by Him.

Do not let the enemy convince you that your prayers are too simple or too small. A parent's quiet plea over a sleeping child moves the heart of God. Your whispered intercession for the one you love is not a minor thing. It is the very work of the kingdom. Bring them to Jesus today. Lay them in His hands. Then trust that He prays over them with a love deeper and more steadfast than your own.
