Made Righteous in Him

From the sermon Good, But Not Good Enough

From the sermon

God made him who knew no sin be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God. That's how we can be made righteous with Him.

Scripture · 2Cor.5.21

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Reflect and pray

The great exchange lies at the heart of the Christian faith: Christ took our sin upon himself, and we receive his righteousness in return. This was not fair or deserved; it was grace beyond comprehension. The one who never sinned became sin for us, bearing what we deserved so that we might bear what we never could earn. Reflect today on the cost of this exchange. Let gratitude rise in your heart, and ask God to help you live in light of this new identity—not as one trying to become righteous, but as one who already is in Christ.
