Folly to the Natural

Wednesday · Anchor: 1Cor.2.14· preview (not yet released by the daily cron)

From the sermon Wealth: Help or Hindrance?

From the sermon

But the person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, and they will seem folly to him or her because that person is not able to understand them, because that person does not have the Spirit.

Scripture · 1Cor.2.14

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

Reflect and pray

A mind untouched by the Spirit sees the cross as weakness and the gospel as nonsense. We cannot argue anyone into the kingdom, because spiritual truth is spiritually discerned. Thank God today for giving you eyes to see Christ as wisdom and power. Pray for someone in your life who still considers the gospel folly, asking the Father to draw them by his sovereign, merciful grace.
