Loving God More Than Stuff

And Jesus said to his disciples, 'Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.' When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, 'Who then can be saved?' But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'

## Why does loving wealth make it hard to follow Jesus? Jesus warned that riches can be a huge spiritual obstacle. What are some things kids your age might want so badly that they could start to love those things more than God?

## What does Jesus mean when He says salvation is impossible for people? When the disciples heard Jesus, they asked, 'Who then can be saved?' Jesus answered that with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Why is this good news instead of bad news?

## What does the gospel really offer us? The sermon said the gospel does not promise more money, success, or happiness like the world offers. It offers forgiveness of sins and a relationship with God, even if that costs everything. Why is forgiveness and being part of God's family better than having more stuff?

## What would you do if following Jesus cost you something you love? The rich young man went away sorrowful because he had great possessions and was not willing to give them up. Is there something you own, a hobby, or a dream that would be hard to let go of if Jesus asked you to put Him first?
