God Gives Good Things

## Story Time Leader note: Read slowly with a warm smile. Hold your Bible open so the children see it. This story is based on Jesus' parable in Matthew 20. Time: about 2 minutes.

'For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.' — Matthew 20:1

A kind man had a big garden. He asked people to come help. Some came early, and some came late. At the end of the day, he gave every worker the same good pay. God is like that kind man—He gives good things to everyone who comes to Him.

## Motion and Song Leader note: Stand up and lead by doing the motions big and slow. If a child does not want to stand, let them sit and watch. Time: about 1 minute.

Sing to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star: God is good and gives so much, wave your hands and feel His love! (Wave hands overhead.) Clap, clap, clap for all He does, He gives good gifts to each of us! (Clap three times, then hug yourself.)

## Yes or No Question Leader note: Ask slowly. Let children call out the answer together. Expected answer: Yes. If a child says No, gently say, 'Remember, the story says every worker got the same good pay.' Redirect back to the story. Time: about 1 minute.

## Leader Helps Delivery tone: Warm, cheerful, and unhurried. Use big smiles and varied pitch to hold attention. Expected duration: 5 minutes total. If a child gets restless: Invite them to be your helper by holding the Bible or handing out crayons. You may also repeat the motion song to let them wiggle.
