The ultimate in greatness is the Lord Jesus Christ, which is why He is exalted and given the name that is above every name and every knee shall bow. He is the ultimate servant who gives himself for the sins of His people, atones for their sins.
Scripture · Isa.53.11
Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.
Reflect and pray
Isaiah prophesied a servant who would be bruised for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities. Jesus fulfilled this word perfectly: the righteous One bore the sin of the unrighteous, making many accounted righteous before God. His greatness was not a throne surrounded by admirers, but a cross surrounded by enemies. In the anguish of His soul, He accomplished what we never could, and He was satisfied because His people were redeemed. Let this truth humble you and stir your gratitude. Worship Him today as the servant who became your Savior, and ask Him to make you a servant like Him.
