What's the gateway to greatness in the Kingdom of God? Servanthood. Service to others in particular, not just service to God.

Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Reflect and pray
Jesus does not merely teach servanthood; He embodies it to the point of death. The Son of Man had every right to be served, yet He laid aside His rights to rescue us. His service was not convenient or comfortable; it cost Him His life. This is the standard of greatness in the Kingdom: a willingness to pour ourselves out for others, following the pattern of the cross. As you reflect today, consider whether your service is shaped by love or by obligation. Pray that the Spirit would deepen your desire to serve others as Christ served you, even when sacrifice is required.
