Silenced but Persistent

Tuesday · Anchor: Matt.20.31

From the sermon Seeing, Although Blind

From the sermon

The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more. Lord, have mercy on us, son of David.

Scripture · Matt.20.31

The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more, 'Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!'

Reflect and pray

When the crowd tried to silence the blind men, they only shouted louder. Opposition often tempts us to quiet our prayers or shrink our faith, but these men show us that persistence honors Christ. The world may rebuke your devotion or try to distract you from Jesus, yet the proper response is to cry out all the more. Do not let the noise or pressure of others drown your voice. Keep asking, keep seeking, and keep calling on the Son of David in faith.
