Kids Can Shout Hosanna to Jesus

Sermon: Lord of the Temple, Matthew 21:12-17

But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, 'Hosanna to the Son of David!' they were indignant, and they said to him, 'Do you hear what these are saying?' And Jesus said to them, 'Yes; have you never read, Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise?'

Matthew 21:15-16

Story Time (read aloud)

One day Jesus walked into God's house, the temple. It was supposed to be a place to pray, but people were busy buying and selling, so Jesus cleaned it up. Then people who could not see and people who could not walk came to Jesus, and He made them all better! The children were so happy that they shouted, 'Hosanna! Hosanna to Jesus!' Some grown-ups grumbled, but Jesus said, 'God loves the praise of little children.'

Let's Move!

Stand up and wave your arms high like waving big palm branches. Clap two times and shout together:

Hosanna! Hosanna! Jesus is King!

Do it three times: once quiet, once medium, and once your BIGGEST happy voice (at home or after the service).

Question for You

Can little kids like you praise Jesus too?

YES or NO

Draw It!

Draw a picture of you and your friends singing and shouting 'Hosanna!' to Jesus.
